What happens to what you write here.
This page says exactly what the site does with your words, and no more than that.
The short version
- There are no accounts. You never sign in and we never ask who you are.
- There is no tracking. This site loads no analytics, advertising, or social-media scripts.
- There are no forms, mailing lists, or email capture.
- What you write to the companion is not read by people, and conversations are automatically deleted within 24 hours.
The writing space
The writing space on the home page is provided to help you say what you need to say to God and to point you to Scripture. The companion, which we call Listener, is a computer program, not a person. It does not pronounce forgiveness, does not act as a priest or a counsellor, and cannot care for you.
To reply to you, the words you write are sent to the service that runs the companion. That service is configured for this site so that human review is disabled: conversations are not read by people. Each conversation is automatically deleted within 24 hours. We make no stronger promise than that: for those hours the service holds your words, no person reads them, and within a day they are gone.
Your browser keeps a short session identifier for the length of your visit so the companion can follow the conversation. It is held in session storage, which your browser clears when the tab is closed. Nothing is written to your device to identify you on a later visit.
What the site itself records
Like any website, the servers that deliver these pages see the ordinary technical details of a request, such as the page asked for and the network address it came from, for the short time needed to answer it and to keep the site running safely. We do not use this to build a profile of you.
Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts so the pages look as designed; that request carries the usual technical details and nothing you have written.
Children
This site is written for adults. If you are under 18 and something you have read here is weighing on you, please talk to a parent, a teacher, a pastor or another adult you trust.
